Waking up on the wrong side of the bed is when the person is starting their day with a negative mood or a bad attitude or feeling pain and stress. The cause of waking up on the wrong side could be poor sleep quality, anticipatory stress,  and underlying thoughts.

Waking up on the wrong side of the bed can be terrible because the negative emotional state from morning which negatively can have an impact on your mood, productivity, and cognitive performance throughout your day. This is because your initial outlook can influence your perception of events and take up your mental energy which can lead to a poor mood.

When students wake up on the wrong side of the bed, they may be grumpy, irritable, or experience  short-tempered moods. This feeling can often be linked to poor quality or insufficient sleep. This means that in school, they may sleep during class and have a bad performance during their work.

In my opinion, ways to fight waking up on the wrong side of the bed include reframing your thoughts, moving your body, and focusing on the positive. Another thing could be helping others, because it can make you feel better. Finally, it will help get a better sleep schedule.
