If you walk through the halls, there’s a good chance you’ll spot someone battling it out in Clash Royale, before class or during lunch. The game is pretty popular—but some students say it might actually help your brain, not just your trophy count.

Clash royale isn’t just placing cards and praying. It actually has some themes of strategy, like managing elixir, which is the point system you need to place cards, counting elixir, and different counters to use against people.
Another reason Clash is often correlated with brain power, is the ability to react quickly. The matches last 2 to 5 minutes, and you have to make decisions with a limited amount of elixir to spend. This shows shades of problem solving and being able to identify the best outcome with the cards you have.
The game also teaches flexibility. Having multiple decks and playing against different people at the same time, you are pretty much guaranteed to go against different lineups every time. Being able to adapt is a big part of learning, and is very prominent in Clash Royale.
Of course, there is an extent that it goes to, as like every game it could affect grades or sleep. This pretty much means don't overdue it. So, does clash royale make you smarter? There isn’t an official answer, but it wouldn’t be surprising to guess that it does.
