This is the first time in this school’s history under the BACSAC League, that Boys Soccer will be competing in Division B after suffering humiliating losses against AIMS, Arise, Lighthouse and Latitude and after the controversy surrounding the Boys Volleyball’s championship game against John Henry last season which also led to the relegation of Twin Oaks Boys Soccer.

This season may prove difficult as Brian Vides, Michael “Mikey” Monterrosa and Victor Castro have graduated and now the team is led by three new captains in Sebastian Barajas, Elijah Sklar and Ramon Gutierrez with a brand new coach.

For Girls Volleyball on the other hand, since their win in the championship final against Mare Tech Island, they will remain in Division B of the BACSAC Girls Volleyball League, but their squad has taken many hits due to seniors graduating like Nesreen Ali, Eva Jones, and Ella Blanco, or they have faced students transferring to other schools like Isabella Torres to San Leandro High and Alexa Blanco transferring too. They have managed to keep vital and crucial bits of the team like Deborah “Dev”, Elysia Rea and Mariam Faqiri who will for sure have big expectations to lead the team to a second championship title in a row. The question in hand is can they keep their undefeated streak going or will the departure of crucial players make them suffer under the pressure?

So far, fall sports seem to be going well for Boys Soccer and Girls Volleyball, as they both remain undefeated with Boys Soccer grabbing four wins in their first four games. Girls Volleyball, on the other hand, have also won their first two games of the season and by the looks of it, it turns out both teams were able to deal with the heavy hits they’ve taken from graduating seniors and transferred students.

Be prepared to support our Soccer and Volleyball team as they’ll need everyone’s support to ensure they play well in their playoff matches and also have the energy to win their remaining league games. The boys will be going up against Bay Tech, Lodestar and Mare Island tech on October 2nd, 6th and the 21st and the girls will play October 8th, 10th, 20th, 24th, and the 31st, so watch out and make sure to give our school team the support they deserve!
