Once you know the basics you need to learn the trends. Knowing what is popular at the moment is important. Using trending audios, filters, and dances can boost your video in the algorithm. This means it is more likely to get attention and make it on the for you page. Additionally, knowing about hashtags can also help boost your video. Putting hashtags like #FYP can tell the algorithm to add it to the for you page. You can also include hashtags that are relevant to your video so that if someone searches for that term it shows up.  

In my opinion the trends can change fast and you need to keep up with them. If you don’t keep up with it, it might be hard to stay relevant on TikTok.
