I wrote this poem to highlight immigration, so others can be aware about the harsh reality of what immigrants are experiencing and going through. The purpose for this is to hopefully leave others who read left with some sympathy for Hispanic immigrants because it's unfair how they are being treated, And their needs to be justice.

Hope and desire for a better life, the American dream.
Drifting away from Mexico, a tender soul,
Thirteen years old, where dreams take their Toll.
Labors grip, long hours unfold,
In fields of hardship, stories untold.
Petals bloom,a prosperous life unfolds,
Permission granted,legal documents.
No longer the case, as the promised dream
Beings to wane.
Referred to as “aliens”, in prejudice shades.
Taken away without a say.
No opportunity, no justice
Ripped from family, hearts torn apart,
A scar they bear, from borders torn
By ICE'S cold hand, cruel and worn.

In shadowed classrooms, minds drift far,
Haunted by the specter of loss.
Deportation’s shadow, a constant dread.
Education's path, once bright and clear, now dims beneath the weight of endless worry.
Mental health, a fragile bloom, wilts under The storm of uncertainty,
A parent's absence, a child's despair
But hopes remain, as a flickering flame,
In unity's strength, they reclaim their name.
For justice and freedom, they’ll rise and Fight,
To rewrite the narrative, and restore the Light.
