A Magical Dream

The MKC Nutcracker is a Christmas Eve story about a young girl Clara, who receives a Nutcracker doll from her Auntie (Drosselmeyer). After falling asleep, she dreams that the nutcracker comes to life to battle the Rat queen(hip hop), and After the Nutcracker is transformed into a prince.The prince then takes Clara into the land of sweets to visit snow (ballet), candy canes (acro), chocolate(tap), Marzipan(ballet), peppermints(jazz), tea(ballet), coffee(acro) sugar plum(ballet), waltz of the flowers(ballet).

The nutcracker is a really famous ballet that was first performed in the late 1800s and it has now become a symbol of the holiday season where we see nutcrackers everywhere as holiday decoration. The nutcracker tells us a story of a girl named Clara that gets a nutcracker doll on christmas eve and that night the nutcracker comes to life so Clara gets taken into a dreamlike adventure full of magic.

The nutcracker is really meaningful to some because it holds a lot of childhood memories especially for dancers who have been part of the nutcracker for years and practically grew up dancing in the nutcracker and it's a beautiful traditional ballet. A lot of amazing memories happen during the holidays, especially many during the nutcracker season. 

The MKC nutcracker isn't just a strictly ballet performance theres many many different dance styles that are a part of our nutcracker production which will make it really memorable for everyone.
