A spotlight on Hayward Twin Oaks 9th/10th grade teachers.
Ms. Valdez

Cristina Valdes is a Spanish teacher at HTOM. She teaches Spanish from Spanish 1 all the way to Spanish 4. She works with more than 100 students at the school. She loves teaching Spanish because she really likes the culture and enjoys helping students learn a new language. Her favorite part of the job is when students work together. Her least favorite part is when the technology doesn’t work. The coolest thing that’s happened to her is when one of her students passed an AP Spanish test and got an internship in Spain. She likes writing and politics, and she’s good at dancing. She used to be good at soccer, but she doesn’t play anymore.
Ms. Rios

Rose Rios is a math teacher at HTOM. She helps students a lot and really loves her job. Her favorite part is the students, but her least favorite part is having to share rooms with other teachers, so she’s always moving from one room to another. The craziest thing she’s seen is when kids do stuff she didn’t expect. Some of her interests are softball and video games. One of her talents is being really nice.
Mr Sunny

Sunny Diaz is a PE teacher at HTOM. He loves his job and really cares about helping his students get better at fitness and learn about sports. He also plans the sports programs. His favorite part is when students work out on their own without being told and show responsibility. He says he doesn’t have a least favorite part. The craziest thing he’s seen is kids skipping class, and he doesn’t like when that happens. Some of his interests are coaching students and spending time with his family. One of his talents is motivating students.
